Riding
What is the difference between riding in 3D and over a video?
In 3D you ride a real place, on a route you choose. Over a video you watch whatever you like and your session floats over it; the road underneath is flat. Every workout can be ridden either way.
Can I steer?
No. You choose your route on the map, then ride it.
Which worlds are there?
Southern Limburg, Mont Ventoux and Ouagadougou. More are being built and arrive as updates.
Can I ride with other people?
With friends who share a word with you, yes. There is no racing and no leaderboard.
Trainers
Do I need a smart trainer?
For ERG and Road, yes: one that takes control over Bluetooth. With a power meter alone you can still ride and record.
Will it work with mine?
Try it during the 14-day trial: if it does not work with your trainer, you have paid nothing.
Does it support ANT+?
No, Bluetooth only.
Training
Which workouts come with it?
50+, from recovery to VO2max, and two FTP tests. You can also build your own, or bring them in as files.
I am new to all of this. Is it for me?
Yes. Tell the app you are new and it explains itself as you go, with a Guide in plain language and gentle first rides.
Your data
What happens to my rides?
They stay on your computer unless you turn backups on. Link a training service and the rides you finish from then on are sent there. The privacy notice has the whole of it.
Does my heart rate go to my training services?
Only if you say so. It always stays in your rides on your computer; with your consent it goes to the training services you link, straight through us and never stored here. Backups never hold it.
Does the app see what I watch while riding over a video?
No. Its panel sits above your other windows, and it registers a few keyboard shortcuts with your computer, which tells it only when one of them is pressed. It reads no other keys, does not capture your screen, and records and sends nothing about what you watch.
Do I need an account?
Yes, with an email address. You sign in with a code; there is no password.
Paying
What does it cost?
The price will be announced before VeloWatt Pro goes on sale, including VAT. The trial is 14 days and needs no card.
What will I see on my bank statement?
Stripe sells the subscription on our behalf through Link, so the charge shows as LINK.COM* VELOWATT. That is us: please ask us before disputing it.
What happens when the trial ends?
If you do not subscribe, riding stops until you do. Your rides stay yours and can still be exported.
How do I cancel?
From the link at the foot of every page here, or from your account page. We email you a link to confirm it, and the subscription runs to the end of the period you paid for.
Computers
Which computers does it run on?
macOS 11 or newer, and 64-bit Windows 10 or newer. The download page says what it needs: https://ridevelowatt.com/download/#requirements
Which graphics settings should I choose?
Leave them as they are: the app chooses them for your computer when it starts. On a less powerful computer it keeps some of them lower, so your rides load smoothly. You can change them in Settings > Display.
Does it need the internet while I ride?
No. A downloaded world rides offline for up to 7 days at a time. Signing in, backups and updates need the internet.
Windows warns me when I install it. Is that right?
Yes, Windows warns about programs it has not seen often yet. Check that the publisher reads VeloWatt UG (haftungsbeschränkt) and carry on: https://ridevelowatt.com/install/
Which languages does it speak?
English, Nederlands, Deutsch, Français, Español, Italiano, Dansk.

Try it for two weeks. Then decide.
Everything works during the 14-day trial, and no card is needed. Cancel any time.
Needs macOS 11 or Windows 10 or newer, two cores, 8 GB of memory and graphics from about 2018 on. Will my computer run it?
14 days free, no card.
Windows may warn you before it first starts. That is expected. What to press
